Outdoor & Construction Webcams

Outdoor Webcams

Outdoor web cameras (or webcams) are special weather-proof network cameras positioned to capture the progress of an outdoor event over time. Our cameras capture a live video feed, for viewing embedded into a website, private web link, public display, security room, etc. At the same time, the camera can capture still images of the view over the course of the event (anywhere from days to years) and store all images on a server for a time-lapse video.

Construction Cameras

Outdoor webcams and time-lapse videos are particularly popular for construction projects (for a wide variety of commercial sites ranging from residential to commercial) because of their unique ability to showcase the progress of a construction site over the Internet in real time, as well as showing progress over time by using time-lapse videos. Intechnic has over five years of experience working with construction companies to setup, maintain, and host web cameras for various construction sites.

General Applications

Outdoor webcams have many applications ranging from informative, recreational, entertainment, or security. For example, a webcam setup on a public beach can let visitors see weather conditions. A camera setup on a busy street can keep an eye on traffic. Sport and special events setup web cameras for promotional purposes and to keep track of attendance. Time-lapse videos are used anywhere from construction sites, where users can see the building “grow” in front of their eyes to green houses, where flowers can be captured blooming over the course of several months.

Webcams Feeds & Services

When a camera is live, the video feed can be displayed in several different ways. Based on your preference and the camera’s connection speeds, the camera can play a live feed or update its image every 5-30 seconds. Optionally, the camera can periodically upload images to Intechnic’s servers for the purposes of compiling a time-lapse video.

Your camera is setup and configured at our facilities and shipped to you ready to be deployed at your location. You’ll be able to mount it and start capturing images in mere minutes. Your camera also comes equipped with a secure Administrative Console allowing you to adjust settings such as the night mode and how your images are captured.

How this Works and Getting Started

Simply let Intechnic know your estimated timeframe for your project and we will provide you with options for feed and image archiving and hosting, various camera and image quality options, and discuss setup options with you. Once you’ve chosen a hosting and camera option, we’ll need approximate site dimensions to choose an appropriate lens, and then we’ll ship the plug-and-play system, which lets you mount the camera and start recording feeds and images.
