Relax Home Furnishings is a retailer and distributor of high quality sofas and accessories. The company offers the highest quality European and Domestic furniture and offers delivery anywhere within the continental United States.
Intechnic was approached by the client and asked to create a website that would emphasize the quality and the look of the merchandise as well as provide a means for customers to purchase products online with ease. The design of the web site was specifically given a contemporary look in order to match the type of furniture being sold, while the administrative functions of the site were set up in a manner so as to allow the site administrator to easily upload relevant product information and images of the products in order for customers to have a better understanding of what they are purchasing.
The most important feature of the website is the nested product catalog where the administrator can add new products, specify their inventory status, allow customers to purchase items on back order, add any number of images for each of the products, and add new categories (should the need arise to offer a new product line). All changes by the administrator are automatically reflected on the front end catalog in real time – which allows the administrator of the site to make quick and easy updates any time without Intechnic’s involvement.

Another important part of the web site is the cross-selling functionality that was implemented in order to allow customers the opportunity to see matching furniture pieces to the one they are already viewing. The system allows the administrator to assign one or several related products to any product in the catalog. When the customer is viewing the details page of a particular product, if there are related products, their picture, price, and a link to their details page is automatically displayed. This important functionality has allowed Relax Home Furnishings to increase their sales and improve customer satisfaction by making it easier for customers to find a full matching set of products without extensive searching.
Future development plans for the website include warehouse management, an inventory synchronization module, extensive sales statistics reporting, and other business automation functionality.
