Pawky, LLC, a company focused on short film distribution and consumer media, was founded in 2005. Main goal of the company is to service a community of filmmakers and other artists involved in film production by providing them with a medium for interaction and collaboration. Another goal is to build a community of short film enthusiasts who will provide feedback and create revenue opportunities for the owners of featured films.
Pawky, LLC was seeking to begin the development of that medium – Pawky.com – an online distribution portal for short film and videos. The major requirement of this portal was allowing visitors to watch, rate, and review high quality video on any computer accessing the Internet through any popular browser.
Another major requirement was making it possible for members of the website to share their videos with the world by uploading them onto Pawky.com where they would be automatically converted into Macromedia Flash format and made available for viewing (as well as rating and reviewing). Other requirements included community site features such as user profiles, forum, blogging, messaging, image galleries, resumes, as well as payment processing, ad management tools and a powerful yet easy-to-use mechanism for searching and filtering through the various types of content.
As a leader and innovator in the field of web portal software, Intechnic Corporation was contracted to develop the Pawky.com website. Pawky challenged Intechnic to develop a portal that was not only feature-rich and intuitive to use but also one that would be easy to manage with nearly complete automation. Pawky.com is currently in the beta phase, but the community has already grown to several hundred registered users and attracted over 10,000 short film enthusiasts within a month of becoming publicly accessible. Pawky, LLC and Intechnic are continuing their relationship, constantly releasing new features that further enhance the Pawky.com members’ and visitors’ experience.
